ABOUT ITEP

One of the main objectives of the NEP-2020, the Ministry of Education, Government of India has launched the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) to reshape teacher education globally. The main goal of this four-year curriculum is to combine professional courses in teaching with general studies offering a broad foundation in knowledge for teaching in primary and secondary schools. Mangaldai College (Autonomous) has applied for the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) to ERC-NCTE and received the Letter of Intent (LOI) on 07th August 2025 (F.No.NCTE/ERC/2627202505204847/ASSAM/2025/LOI) to begin the B.Sc. B.Ed. (Secondary) and B.A. B.Ed. (Secondary) courses under 7(13) of NCTE Regulation, 2014 from the session 2026-27. This programme will have a significant impact in the field of teacher education providing a comprehensive dual major degree in Education along with specialization in other disciplines such as humanities and languages, sciences, social sciences, mathematics, and many more.
